What is a Prime Number?

Consider the table below,
It is clear from the table above that the numbers 2, 3, 5, 7 ... have two numbers as their factors. Such numbers are called Prime Numbers. Therefore a Prime Number is counting number having exactly two factors, one and itself. Note that numbers that have more than two factors are called composite numbers. E.g. 4, 6, 8 and so on.
NB: this it can be helpful.
Prime Factorization:
When we talk of Prime Factorization, it is the way of expressing a number as a product of prime number. “Factor tree” could be used to find the prime factorization of numbers.

This is often used and most people enjoy it! For example to find the prime factorization of 42 and 48 using the factor tree.
